What is LEGOⓇ Based Therapy?
LEGOⓇ Based Therapy is a collaborative play model where participants learn social skills by working together to build LEGO models. Participants first learn a set of ‘LEGO Club’ rules (including 'Rules of Cool') and develop LEGO building skills (including collaborative building) in individual sessions.
They are then introduced to a group of peers, where the task of LEGO building is divided into different but interdependent roles such as:
Engineer: The person who receives the set of directions
Supplier: The person who has the pieces needed to build the set
Builder: The person responsible for putting the pieces together and following the directions of the engineer
Both verbal and non-verbal communication are necessary in the completion of the task.
Our team has completed the Advanced Training in LEGOⓇ Based Therapy with the pioneer of LEGOⓇ Based Therapy, Dr. Daniel Legoff and is currently receiving regular supervision from Dr. Legoff.

How do I get my child involved in LEGOⓇ Based Therapy?
Step 1: Call or email us to set up an appointment
The purpose of this appointment is to meet with a member of our team, who will explain how LEGOⓇ Based Therapy works and to determine whether or not you feel it is a programme that is best-suited to your child’s needs.
Step 2: Assessment to determine your child’s abilities and base level
This assessment includes:
20-minute parent interview
40-minute observation and assessment with your child
30-minute debrief with parent(s) to discuss the findings of the observation and our recommendations on how to move forward with your child
Step 3: A combination of regular on-going individual and group intervention
A minimum attendance of one-hour sessions, twice a week will be required. The intervention will comprise:
One hour each week of one-to-one intervention to teach skills needed to function in the LEGO Based Therapy group
One hour each week of group LEGO Based Therapy to apply the skills learned during the one-to-one session
